A Board of Five (5) Directors manages the affairs of the Fieldcreek Estates Homeowners Association. Your present Board of Directors is soliciting nominations from the membership as one (1) position is vacant on the Board of Directors. The Board is also seeking volunteers for the Architectural Committee. The duties of the officers, directors and committee members are not too taxing; nonetheless, it requires each individual to make a personal commitment and investment in the association. The decisions and actions of the Board of Directors shape the character of our community and impact the lifestyles of us all. It is important for each Director to understand the duties and responsibilities of the Board as well as the tools of effective leadership and management. The duties of the Board are set forth primarily in the basic legal documents, which include the declaration, articles, by-laws and rules and regulations. Duties assumed by the Board cover a broad spectrum of activities, including physical maintenance of common area buildings and grounds, establishing financial policies and procedures, adopting budgets, collecting assessments, paying bills, enforcing rules, imposing penalties, conducting hearings, establishing rules and regulations, selecting consultants such as Attorneys and CPA’s, employing management, and contractors, establishing and maintaining architectural standards, appointing committees, public relations, obtaining and maintaining adequate insurance, enforcing the rights of the association and its members, and prosecuting and defending legal actions. In our Association we are certain there are many highly competent people who are willing to serve but are unknown to the Nominating Committee. These individuals have new ideas and views that are of great value, and we are eager to find them. Any member of the Association wishing to be considered for nomination or wishing to nominate another member should submit a written letter to management (Please note the attached form) by May 6th 2008. If you are nominating a person other than yourself that person must accept the nomination prior to submitting. We encourage people to nominate themselves!
